“Pilkington” polished glass. Due to its low surface tension, the glass is not fragile, and in this way the probability of breaking or cracking is reduced. The probability of breaking is lowered even further due to the fact that an impact to the first sheet of glass is deadened by the second glass sheet due to the pressure layer between them.
